Kravis Labs は、医療・研究の現場で役立つツールを開発しています。立ち上げの背景には、医師の業務負担を減らしたいという思いに加え、医学をさらに前に進めること、そして研究資金の確保があります。若手の医師研究者は、十分な資金を得にくく、本当にやりたい研究に手が伸びにくい現実があります。当社の利益のすべてではありませんが、研究資金として還元していきたいと考えています。

Kravis Labs builds tools for clinical and research settings. Our work is driven not only by easing physicians' workloads, but also by advancing medicine and securing research funding. Early-career physician-researchers often struggle to obtain adequate support, making it hard to pursue the research they care about most. We aim to channel a portion of our profits—though not all—back into research funding.

創業者は大学院時代、統計解析に苦しみ、R を自ら使いながらも、コードを少し変えると動かなくなるなど、本来の研究に向ける時間を削られていると感じました。論文を投稿するたびに体裁を整えるなど、事務的な作業も重なります。そうした経験から、再現性のある解析と図づくりを、できるだけ手間なく届けたいと考えています。

During graduate school, our founder wrestled with statistical analysis. Even while using R, small code changes could break everything—time that felt stolen from real research. Submitting papers across journals also meant endless formatting work. That experience shaped our conviction: make reproducible analysis and publication-ready figures far less burdensome.

臨床医として医局の当直・オンコール管理を手作業で行っていた頃は、月に数時間〜半日近くの作業が毎月続き、多忙のなかでも家族との時間を確保しにくいこともありました。最適化ツールを使うようになってからは、数秒で案が決まり、医局員からも「来月の予定が立てやすくなった」と感謝の声をいただきました。

As a clinician managing department on-call schedules by hand, the work often took several hours to nearly half a day each month—on top of an already heavy load and time at home with family. After adopting optimization, schedules settle in seconds, and colleagues have told us it is far easier to plan ahead.

患者検体の管理用ソフトウェアについて高額な見積りを聞いた経験から、「それなら自分たちで作ろう」と生まれたのが、検体・サンプル管理の取り組みです。すでに複数の医師の方に使っていただき、役立っています。

Hearing a steep quote for patient-specimen management software led us to build it ourselves—our lab sample management effort began there. Several physicians already use it, and it has proven useful in practice.
